About Me
Welcome to my counseling practice, where healing and self-discovery are at the heart of our journey. As a mental health counselor, I bring a unique blend of creativity, spirituality, and analysis to guide you through your personal growth. Whether you are an individual seeking support or a couple navigating the complexities of your relationship, I am here to assist you.
Together, we will embark on a transformative path towards self-awareness and acceptance, empowering you to cultivate fulfilling connections and thrive amidst life's challenges. I specialize in addressing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, fear, anger, grief, and depression stemming from workplace dysfunction, divorce/separation, parenting conflicts, family dynamics, trauma (both in childhood and adulthood), illness, loss, and death. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with individuals embracing their LGBTQIA+ identity and those adjusting to new phases of life and living situations.
Having spent 26 years in Japan and traveled extensively, I have a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and cross-cultural experiences. This background allows me to offer a compassionate and understanding perspective to individuals in international or cross-cultural marriages/partnerships, individuals born outside the U.S., and those whose parents were first-generation immigrants or from different cultures. Advocating for women's and LGBTQIA+ issues has always been close to my heart.
In therapy, I draw upon a variety of therapeutic modalities tailored to your unique needs. I am particularly influenced by Internal Family Systems, Feminist Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Gestalt, Psychodrama, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Analytical Psychology, and Psychodynamic Therapy. By integrating techniques such as psychodrama, drawing, writing, dream analysis, active imagination, body awareness, and mindfulness practices, we will unlock the doors to your unconscious mind and facilitate profound healing.
I invite you to embark on this transformative journey of self-discovery, where we will delve into the depths of your inner world to gain insight and cultivate lasting change. Whether you are seeking personal growth, improved relationships, or simply a greater understanding of yourself, I am here to support you every step of the way.

Why Kannon Healing?
I chose the name Kannon as part of my practice name in order to embrace the profound wisdom of the thousand-armed Kannon, a revered Japanese bodhisattva. Inspired by the archetype of Senjū Kannon (Sahasrabhuja in Sanskrit), my ideals are compassion and adaptability.
The image of Kannon with a thousand arms, each grasping a unique tool or implement, represents my aspiration to tailor my therapeutic approach to the individual needs of each person I serve. Just as Kannon extends boundless compassion to all beings, I strive to adapt my counseling methods to meet you where you are on your journey.
During my 26 years of living in Japan, Kannon-sama was woven into the fabric of my daily life and her archetype continues to remind me that the key to healing is different for each person.
